With a fantastic view over the roofs of Geelong, our After 5 networking event hosted by GMHBA was a huge success. Our members came in droves to experience GMHBA’s new headquarters firsthand.
GMHBA CEO David Greig shared the humble beginnings of the non-for-profit health insurer – how a group of cement workers formed a health insurance scheme to protect their families. Today, GMHBA still follows that credo, looking after their members as we heard in the seemingly miraculous story of Michael Stangel.
GMHBA’s mental health lead Angie Hilton interviewed former The Voice star, Chamber member and Geelong Waterfront Film Board Chair Michael Stangel on his recovery after receiving a terminal diagnosis – 10 years ago – and the care he received as a member with GMHBA.
Michael and his wife Jodie also star in GMHBA’s newest TV commercial, which Geelong Chamber members saw at the event prior to it being distributed nationwide.
We’d like to thank all our members that joined us in what turned out to be the opening function at the new GMHBA headquarters and GMHBA for hosting a splendid February After 5 networking event.
